Mission
By 2025, Mercer County will improve the quality of life through business, government and community.
The CTC Process
The Communities That Care system is a community action model, based on years of research, which allows for comprehensive community-wide prevention planning. The process ensures that communities use their existing resources effectively and efficiently to focus their unique prevention needs and to positively impact youth development.
Mercer County Communities That Care is a community-based process. This process provides a structured system in which members of existing human service organizations, government agencies, schools, the business sector and the community can work cooperatively to plan, implement and evaluate programs and services for youth.
The process evaluates the risks that affect the healthy development of our youth and implement research-based programs to diminish these risks. Investing in and providing for positive youth development now deters from future crime, victimizing and entry into the adult corrective system.
